Mr. Steve Clarke

Steve Clarke is honored and excited to serve as Principal of Onslow Virtual School, returning to a school community he previously had the privilege of leading from 2020–2022. Throughout his career in education, Mr. Clarke has served as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and principal. He believes that strong schools are built on positive relationships and that every student deserves to feel connected, supported, and valued. His leadership philosophy aligns closely with the OVS mission “to connect people positively” and its vision of “a positive life.”

Originally from Moundsville, West Virginia, Mr. Clarke is a graduate of John Marshall High School and West Liberty State College and earned his graduate degree from East Carolina University. He and his wife, Kelly, are proud parents of two adult children, Ryan Smith and Casey Jones, and grandparents to Trey and Brantley Jones. Mr. Clarke is passionate about creating a positive school culture where students, families, and staff feel like part of a TEAM. As he returns to OVS, he looks forward to building on the school’s strong foundation while creating new opportunities for students to learn, grow, connect, and succeed.
