CHEW! Weekend Food Assistance Program
Free Weekend Food Support for OVS Families
Onslow Virtual School is proud to partner with CHEW! (Children Healthy Eating on Weekends), a community initiative supported by United Way of Onslow County. The CHEW! program provides eligible families with a weekly supply of nutritious food to help children have access to meals and snacks over the weekend.
Each week, participating students receive a bag of food that may include:
- Breakfast items
- Healthy snacks
- Fruits and vegetables
- Shelf-stable meal options
- Other nutritious food items
For OVS families, School Social Worker Sarah Welchel coordinates the program and will arrange delivery directly to your home whenever possible. Families may also have the option to pick up food items at the OVS office on designated dates.
All Onslow Virtual School families are eligible to participate. Simply complete the registration form below to get started. After you submit the form, Mrs. Welchel will contact you with additional information.
